RCB helps Mayes County Relay For Life Exceed Last Year's Total
PRYOR — The community of Mayes County rallied for the Relay For Life Friday when they pulled off a $30,000 increase over last year’s donations.
Mayes County generated over $100,700 for the American Cancer Society’s largest fundraiser, a feat not reached in Mayes County for at least eight years.
Teams worked year-round to put Pryor on the map as a community of go-getters.
“We did a wonderful job,” said Mitchell. “The $100,000 was thanks to the generosity of Mayes County residents.”
Mitchell said teams worked tirelessly, which added up to big team and individual totals.
Three teams, Barb’s Bunch, RCB Bank and First Pryority Bank, raised over $10,000, and 19 individuals raised over $1,000 by themselves, another huge accomplishment for the local event.
The top team was Barb’s Bunch, which was celebrating their 10th year with the Relay. They raised over $12,000, and were the top corporate sponsor as well.
“They really pulled out the stops for their 10-year anniversary,” said Mitchell. “Everyone did a fabulous job, and showed just how generous our people can be.”
