RCB Bank fundraiser has appeal for American Red Cross
CLAREMORE — RCB Bank recently held a Baked Potato Lunch fundraiser for their employees to help reach their $1,000 goal as a Hero for the American Red Cross.
“This is a fun event for our employees and raises much needed funds for the American Red Cross,” said Vicki Boyd, RCB Bank employee and person who spearheaded the fundraiser.
The Golden Corral donated the baked potatoes for the lunch in support of the American Red Cross and RCB Bank employees are donating toppings for the spuds along with desserts and beverages.
“The American Red Cross is so fortunate to have a community partner like RCB Bank, with whose help we are able to always be there when someone experiences a disaster,” said Mark Ogle, director, Rogers/Mayes/Wagoner County Service Center, American Red Cross. “I was lucky enough to be able to attend the lunch and it tasted spudlicious.”
Many people are familiar with the work of the American Red Cross during international disasters like the Haiti earthquake, or national disasters like Hurricane Katrina, or more local large-scale disasters like ice storms or tornadoes, but may not know that the American Red Cross provides direct financial assistance every day to people whose homes were damaged or lost in fires or floods. They also may not know that hundreds of people are trained in life-saving procedures such as CPR, First Aid, Babysitter Training, Water Safety, Lifeguarding and Swimming each year.
All money raised in Rogers County will stay in Rogers County and is imperative to meet the needs of our local friends and neighbors who experience a disaster, like a home fire or flood.
There is still time to join RCB Bank as a Hero for the American Red Cross. Please contact Mark Ogle at 344-8442 or markogle@arctac.org to sign up or with any questions you may have. If serving as a Hero this year isn’t possible, please consider making a donation, of any amount, to the American Red Cross. Checks should be made out to the American Red Cross and mailed to American Red Cross, 400 W. Will Rogers Blvd., Claremore, Oklahoma 74017
